Karen M. Meagher, PhD, is an assistant professor of biomedical ethics research at Mayo Clinic. She specializes in public health ethics, especially ethical and social implications of human and pathogen genomics. She has a PhD in philosophy from Michigan State University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in qualitative research methods at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before joining the faculty of Mayo Clinic, she served as senior policy and research analyst on the staff of President Barack Obama’s advisory body, the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. She welcomes inquiries about exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
