Ana P. Velez, MD, FACP, completed her medical school studies at CES University in Medellin, Colombia; her residency in internal medicine at Hospital Municipal of San Juan and Orlando Regional Center; and her fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of South Florida. Dr. Velez is a professor in the Division of Infectious Disease and International Medicine at USF and Moffitt Cancer Center. Her main areas of interest are HIV/AIDS in cancer patients and infections in immunosuppressed hematology/oncology patients. She also studied art for seven years at the Academia de Arte de Antonio Herrera in Medellin, Colombia, and at USF Fine Arts.
