IDSA and HIVMA Join Rally to Protect
Science & Public Health
The Infectious Diseases Society of America and the HIV Medicine Association will be Standing Up for Science at a rally March 7, 12–4 p.m. ET, in Washington, D.C., and we encourage members to participate in rallies planned in more than 30 cities around the United States. We are joining with others in the scientific community to defend and protect against the unprecedented threats that the infectious diseases community faces in conducting lifesaving research and ensuring evidence-based policies that benefit us all. HIVMA Immediate Past Chair Allison Agwu, MD, ScM, FIDSA, will speak at the Washington, D.C., event taking place at the Lincoln Memorial.
The grassroots effort led by early-career scientists is advocating to secure and expand scientific funding, end censorship and political interference in science, and defend diversity, equity, inclusion and access in science.
