2023 Featured Lecturer
Steven K. Schmitt, MD, FIDSA, is head of the Section of Bone and Joint Infections at the Cleveland Clinic and Associate Professor of Medicine in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He is President of IDSA and a member of the IDSA Board of Directors.
Dr. Schmitt has served IDSA in a variety of roles, including past chair of the IDSA Clinical Affairs Committee and the Value of Infectious Diseases Specialists Task Force. He has played an active role in advocacy for reimbursement for ID services and is the current chair of the IDSA Physician Compensation Task Force.
Steve is a past president of the Musculoskeletal Infection Society and the Infectious Diseases Society of Ohio. He also is active in physician professionalism programs at the Cleveland Clinic.
